Yes. All the menu items with J are vegan
Best Thai in town!
So good! You can really tell they take care when making there food! Will deffanitly be back!
Thai on first is delicious! My first impression of the menu is that it's quite extensive. There are a boatload of options! They warned us that the food is particularly spicy, so I asked for 2.5/5. I usually get 3/5 at most Thai places, but the 2.5 was about right. My wife had that Pad Thai at 1/5 heat, which was really good. The portion was about right for the price. I got the #27, which I can't pronounce or spell. It was really good, but the price was a little steep for the quantity. I don't like that rice isn't included with your purchase. It's an extra $1.50 per person. I also don't like that pop(soda) is by the can....which could get expensive at $1.50/can. Overall the food is close to 5/5, but the rice and pop situation take a star away. Definitely worth a try!
Excellent food and great service. Please try "Pad Thai", it's very very delicious.
Been going here for 20 years. Best I have had in Spokane. When you order it hot you get it hot. Other places think I don't mean it and it is always mild. Thai on 1st believes you when you ask for stars. The peppers do vary (as all peppers do) so sometimes the 5 star is only 3 or 4 stars and other times it is 5 star and my head gets wet (even the back of my neck).Much, much better taste than Linnies, Riverview Thai and Bamboo Thai. Very nice and, quick servers.
My favorite place to eat Thai in Spokane! Delicious! I just wish they were open longer.
Great food! The level of spice is accurate so beware!
Downtown parking is always fun, and this place is no exception. Great selection and prices on the menu. First time in and I'm going to give it another go. Wait times seem a bit long for food, drinks take a while to get refilled, and getting the bill took even longer. Ordered a two star dish and there was zero spice to it, really missed the added flavor of a good two star... We'll see how next time goes.
This is our go to Thai restuarant. The food is authentic, the service is the best and the prices are unbeatable in Spokane. Whenever we want Thai, we go here.
Best thai food I've ever had. They have an awesome menu and you can choose the level of spiciness you prefer. The pad thai and their curry dishes are amazing. Prepare yourself with a satisfying throat tickle. Nice location easy enough to walk to, and they also have take out. Really nice people who run the restaurant. I always have to eat here when I visit Spokane.
Yummy food
Best Thai food I have had. Been going there for over 25 years. Tried some of the competition only to say each time, "That's not nearly as good." and I remember when he used to work at Thai Cafe(renamed Thai on 1st in the later years unde rsame owners). Spice is from ,mild, no sweat, all the way to head and back of neck sweat with tingling lips. Delicious salads and curries.
Great service and delicious food! I love the ambiance and atmosphere here, it's so relaxing and enjoyable. The prices here are not over priced and the good quality is good! The pad Thai and pad Thai wonsen are AMAZING dishes!
Great food, good service, the owner is always on site. but they have very limited hours. Their lunch hour is 11:30 to 1:00 they reopen at 5:00 p.m. for dinner so you have to have a plan to arrive before 1:00 or you won't get seated. The food here runs spicy, a three star here is equivalent to a four-star in most other Thai restaurants. If in doubt order fewer stars and have them bring out spices for you.
Friendly service, quiet dining. Tom Yum soup was delish!!
Always an excellent experience! The food is terrific and the decor is fun.
My wife’s favorite. We’ve never been disappointed by anything other than not being open all the time.
Best pad thai I ever have had.No one comes close. Moved to Olympia cannot find a pad thai over here that is edible compared to thai on first. Hands down the Greatest Of All Time!!
Delicious food, great service!!
One of the best Thai restaurants in Spokane. The food is fresh and prices are reasonable.
I have been coming here since I was a kid and they were at their location on Sprague. I love the food and always have! Val and his family are wonderful. We are lucky to have an authentic Thai restaurant in this area.
This restaurant is tucked away and it was hard to see that it was open. I am so glad we went in! It was delicious! We had the chicken pad thai, Tom ka gai, pad see ui, and Thai on 1st fried rice. It was all great! It was all seasoned really nicely and cooked well. And the server/cook was really sweet and attentive. Best Thai in Spokane. Period. Service, price or atmosphere don't mean a thing to me if the food is fantastic.
Very, very good food. The interior is not amazing, but I don't care as long as the food is good and the service is great (which it was as well). Highly recommend, awesome prices.
Phad thai is seriously the best I've ever had.
Ordered some Tom Yum for lunch to go and it was delicious! Their to-go cups are a little unconventional (to-go coffee cups) but oh well! The soup was exactly what I wanted, hot, sour, and spicy! Perfect for cold season. It was quick service and the staff was very polite and friendly. The only somewhat negative is the price of the soup, it's a little high. I will still order the soup in the future though!
Great soups. Consistently good.
This is the best Thai food in Spokane period. People complaining about spices must be used to the other Thai joints that give you such weak spices that just about anyone can handle 5 stars. Here they actually have a scale that gets hotter the higher you go. If you get a 5 star other places, try a 2 or 3 star here! Honestly the best fried rice with chicken and veggies you will ever have! 3 stars for me and a Mt. Dew to wash it down!People also need to understand that they are open for 2 hours for lunch....2 hours! That means there will be a rush if you don't get there at the right time. The easiest way to mitigate this is to order carry out!

The food just gets better and better. Lad Na... excellent!
The food is so yummy
Really good food. Give it a try, you will be glad you did.
Always great food!
Limited hours but very good food and service
Thai On First is by far the most authentic and best tasting Thai restaurant in Spokane, possibly the northwest. My mom and I have been going here for the last twenty two years and I highly recommend it.
Best peanut sauce in town and the black rice pudding is to die for!
Very good food, reasonable prices, quick service at lunch. Could use a Lunch Special menu.
Excellent Thai Food. Glass noodles with Prawns in A pepper sauce hit the spot.
Our favorite Thai in Spokane. Dishes we usually get are N2, massaman curry chicken and their chicken with peanut sauce over spinach. If you are in a hurry they are great if you call ahead. They will have your meal ready for dine in or out. As spicy as you want. Makes me hungry just typing this review!
Great food, friendly service. Good beer
Amazing Larb Gai and delicious Thai Iced Coffee. I remember this place fondly.
Friday evening, no crowds, service was friendly, and food was very good. Pricing was also very reasonable.
Best Thai food going, bar none. The pad thai and green curry are to die for, not to mention the soups!
Wonderful food. The service is more traditional (they let you be) which is great for the majority of your visit, but kinda sucks when your order was the perfect level of spice and you need that whole pitcher of water now, please! Super cute, great location (although I definitely spent more time there than anticipated and ran my meter into a parking ticket... need to pay that) so definitely reccommend with a little research (menu is English-ized, but still confusing - two different items with the same description, confusing >_>) or a little sense of adventure before going in. Will return and introduce new patrons!
Good thai. The atmosphere is enjoyable and relaxing. Very clean inside and they do takeout orders too.
This is the best Thai food, service and decor in Spokane, bar none. Flavorful food and reasonable price with friendly, attentive service ... mostly by Val and his family. You can't beat it. I have eaten at his restaurant from the day they opened in Spokane nearly 25 years ago and they have never wavered. Consistently FINE, through and through. I am going to call a new friend for a meet up and get acquainted date ... my first suggestion will be Thai on 1st.
The decor might be a little dated, but it is the best Thai in Spokane.
